KATIE BLAIR
MISS TEEN USA® 2006
Though winning the title of Miss Teen USA has been a dream of 19-year-old Katie Blair's since she was a child, she only entered her state competition four days before it took place! Almost a year later, on August 15th, 2006, in front of a LIVE television audience on NBC, her dream became a reality.
A recent high school graduate from Billings, Montana, Katie plans to attend Louisiana State University, where she will major in advertising and marketing and pursue an associate's degree in fashion design. (her love of design is no surprise given that this intrepid art lover once traveled to Amsterdam to visit Van Gogh's museum!)! She says her dream job is to one day buy, sell and design clothes for her own company off Madison Avenue in New York City.
"I want to be the hottest new young designer of Fashion Week! I want to have my label on the backs of every fashion icon around; I want it to represent individuality, class and sophistication," says Katie.
At the age of 15 she completed the P.F. Chang's Rock 'N Roll half marathon in Arizona as a member of "Team in Training," an organization which raises money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Katie was also a member of her high school's track team for two years.
The Miss Universe Organization, producers of the MISS UNIVERSE®, MISS USA® and MISS TEEN USA® Pageants, is a Donald J. Trump and NBC Universal partnership. By forging relationships with organizations committed to education and action, such as Best Buddies, Sparrow Clubs, Do Something and Outside the Classroom Miss Teen USA is armed to educate teenagers today.
